The students were given a dedicated handout that contained several pages of information relating to the design history of seating – ranging from the socio-economic development of seating based upon materials, design periods and anthropology, through to ergonomics and the way human kind interacts with the environment they ‘sit’ in, be it for task seating (at a desk, eating etc.) through to leisure seating (relaxing, commercial or contract furniture etc.).
